“All Indians are my brothers and sisters…”
But do we really treat everyone equally? The Muslims to
be specific, Tell me?
Imagine a tall man in white kurta wearing a skull cap and
long beard. What’s the first thought to come in your head?
A
PROBABLE TERRORIST. Isn’t it?? That’s what I am referring to as “ISLAMOPHOBIA”.
Why have we tarnished the Muslim sect so much, that just
by the presence of a man in muslim attire sends a chill down the spine?
Why are we tempted to leave the place just because we
THINK he may be a suicide bomber?
Why are we reluctant to befriend someone from the Muslim
community?
Why do we always fear of getting trapped in a police
case if we befriend them???
It’s a shame on us and on our mentality that although we
call ourselves “EDUCATED” and “LITERATES”, indirectly with our actions we are
snatching away someone’s right to freedom!
People, please be more aware and open minded before
pointing your finger towards a person of a particular religion. It’s not that
all the world’s terrorist are Muslims and that no other religion has bad
people!!!
Sometimes I feel, there is no difference between us and
the Britishers who ruled us 200 years ago… they used to differentiate on the basis
of skin color and today we do the same on the basis of their religion. Am I not
right??
Till date the people I have come across, Muslims are the most
warm hearted and sweet people I have known. Full of gratitude, manners and in
depth knowledge of their holy book…..they are a POOL OF KNOWLEDGE.
At times I feel ashamed in sitting next to them because
they know more about my religion than even I know myself. They deserve a lot
more love and respect than we actually give them.
And of course, their dishes are W-O-R-L-D B-E-ST!!!! the
chicken biryani and kheer are something to die for… J J
So friends, let us all open our mind before we open our
mouth.
Even they are humans.
Even they long for acceptability in the society.
Even they feel like celebrating their festivals with
public.
Even they want to be heard.
When god doesn’t discriminate, who are we to do so???
Grow up people.
Everything starts from within.
So I am ending this post with a hope that it may have
been able to sow the seed of “ANTI ISLAMOPHOBIA” in the minds of the readers
and help in changing one’s mind set.
Lots of best wishes. J J
