Do
you want to pass in your board exams?
Do
you have a court case pending and want a judgment in your favor?
Are
you a struggling actor and wish to be casted in YRF’s next project?
If
your answer is a YES, then just sacrifice a goat and all your wishes shall be
granted!!! At least this is what the people in Jhabua district, Madhya Pradesh
believe in.
45
kms from Jhabua, is a “Temple” where stands the idol of “BABA-DONGAR”, which is
believed to make all your wishes come true, provided you:
“Sacrifice
a GOAT + Sacrifice a HEN + Offer a bottle of ALCOHOL”
Here
photocopies of admit cards have been tied to the trees, which in return is
believed to give you good marks. Geetaben Patel, one of the students of class
10th, came all the way from Gujarat with a hope of performing well
in her boards.
Surprisingly,
this place is not just dominated by students, but even teachers, political
leaders and many more drop by to get their work done! Approximately 500 animals
are sacrificed every day.
This
shows how desperate people are to get success and instant results in life. People
are ready to fall for anything and everything. Even for something like superstition…
I
mean just think over it!
How
can a dead goat give you marks? Help you succeed? Make you happy?
Sick!!!
Gross!!!
Rather
than getting involved in such acts, had the person worked hard and believed in
himself, he would have reaped better results.
Or
maybe people do all this…so that they can get away from the guilt of failure. In
case their wishes are not granted or when they get poor marks, they can happily
blame baba-dongar by saying,” Baba didn’t want my wishes to come true. May be
this is not the right time.”
It’s
high time for a reality check and some practical thinking. There will come a
time, when no hens or goats will be left to sacrifice. Then what will you do? Sacrifice
humans? Kids? Women? Or your own head?
How
shameful…
Life
has plans for everyone. Some happen, some don’t. If you give it your best shot,
nothing can stop you from achieving the best. But by killing a poor animal, you
are only inviting bad karma on yourself.
God
never created animals so that we could kill them all in the name of “sacrifice”.
Dear
readers, I request you all to never fall for someone who claims to solve all
your problems or anything that needs you to sacrifice an animal or such similar
thing.
Whether
you succeed or fail, is in your hands…not in that of a goat or a hen!

Seriously its limit... Hw dumb ppl cn get... Its even more shameful dat gal.. EDUCATED gal believes such thing... Agar aaj kal baba sab dene lagey... Toh main har exam main top marunga... Seriously its high tym ppl realise its nt god, baba n all who secure ur faith.. Eventually it u who decide hw u go abt it n frame it...
ReplyDeleteReally Varun... people have to be heartless to do something like this!!! smashing a cockroach is a task for me...and these people kill hens and goats!!! :( awful!!!!
DeleteThey are educated illiterates.
Its a small report written by Shree, better for awareness. There are lots of center for such therapy starting from baba .... to ...., all doing all your work success in 24 hrs. The guarantee being given is attracting the simple people of the country.
ReplyDeleteIts time for govt to ban these activity in this century. In olden days there were lots of such ads seen in Hindi story magazine for treatment of several desease, cure from the curse of bad soul, and several others..
Now all of them has come to late night TV channels selling stones, Chinese fundas yantras (indian fundas seems to be exhausted).
A complete ban is to be implemented
rightly said! Even when we travel in local trains, the posters of all the Baba(s) are all over the place! Baba amanji bangali is the most famous one...! :P
DeleteLol... there's competition in this field aswell !!! :P
its a sad sight...that how people fall for them.
Oh btw, Baba amanji bangali has finally been caught and is serving his sentence behind the bars... :)
Really something that we should all think about. Growing country like India needs to abolish these unwanted practices. As you said, its mostly about your effort. You get the results of your hard work. Would like to add that faith in God is important too, as His guidance is essential. Another write worth reading!! Great work!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Elvin ! :) I am glad you appreciate my writings. and yes, as you mentioned... Faith in god is important too!
