“A jilted lover throws acid on his girlfriend’s face.”
“A marriage
proposal turned down turns that man a rapist!”
“Lover’s spat lead
to a gruesome murder.”
Looks familiar? Don’t
they?
Such headlines are
almost always there in the newspaper. But if they look alien to you, then
probably you haven’t read page 2-6 of Mumbai’s famous daily or rather any page
of any paper… which generally has “such” news covered!
Study and analysis
has shown that a new kind of crime is on a rise: “The love crime”. Crimes such
as acid attacks, rape, gang rape, murders, planning and plotting among people
who have known and loved each other is gaining momentum.
A major portion of today’s
generation expects too much, doubts way too much and more so, is incapable of
handling rejections. And the steep rise in love-crimes is a solid proof for the
same!
Few days back, I read
this article that talked about a 20 something girl who now has no other option,
but to cover her face for almost all her life and is skeptical when it comes to
looking into the mirror, because she is suffered from a major “acid attack”
which has blinded her partially and mutilated her face, in ways that are hard
to imagine, and that too from whom?? The guy whose marriage proposal she turned
had turned down only a few days back!
Shocking! Isn’t it?!
Every time I read
about such incidences, I feel so frustrated that… ahh!!!! I wish I could walk
up to every single guy who has done this and to the ones who have the potential
of doing something so hideous, and thrash them right, left and center and nail
them down to breathlessness!!!
If you have the
courage of getting into a relationship or falling in love, then you need to be
courageous enough to face rejection as well! Also, this whole love-crime stuff
is more evident and pursued by the female counterparts. At least in India!
P.S. Rejection does
not mean it is the end of life! It only means there is something better out
there waiting for you!!! But if people start reacting with acid attacks and
rapes to every other girl who says a “NO”, then there will be no woman you will
be able to fall in love with!!
Come on guys, get a
life! Do some meditation and yoga! Open your eyes! Everyone is a victim of
their situation, but you always have the choice of whether you want to stay
with the situation or you want to make your move.
Whatever your final
decision is, I hope you make a wise choice!
The next major prob that India is facing after corruption is this type of crime....i dnt get hw can someone behave in such a way..."A marriage proposal turned down turns that man a rapist!” Seriously ???????...i dnt knw wt are stepps tht is to taken to stop these thinks unless you yourself have the brains to choose the wise choice :@ ..... again very well written Srish :) a big (y).
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Vineeth ! :)
DeleteWe cannot do anything about it, because it is impossible to judge every man out there... as to whether he will do something so hideous some day or not!
Inside every human, is a monster waiting to be pushed and woken up!
