Our politicians are
the most articulate lot! From some of them having criminal background, to those
whose names appear consistently in every scam… our political “lot” is one (and
only) interesting thing about our economy.
Some of the things that
they said are not only outrageous, but also out rightly dumb!!! You would
definitely not expect a person of such cadre say stuffs like these on such serious
issues!
So here’s a
compilation of the 10 Dumbest stuffs said by our politicians! ;-0 Put your
hands together, and welcome the top 10 people to enter our “Hall of shame”.
1. Asaram Bapu: “She should have called the
culprits “Brothers” and begged for mercy.”
This
self proclaimed god man, added to the shame by holding the unfortunate girl
responsible in the famous “Delhi Rape Case”. According to him, the victim
should have called the rapists “Brothers” and fallen on their feet, begging for
mercy.
Really?
Is this a god man talking or chauvinist? It is because of such irresponsible and
ridiculous statements that encourages rapists!
2. Rahul Gandhi: “Poverty is just a state of
mind.”
When
a potential prime ministerial candidate or youth leader says this, it only
shows how cut off he is from the ground realities. His remark not only
attracted a lot of flack, but was also said to be a “mockery” of the poor.
Time
for some reality check honey!
3. Ajit Pawar: “If there is no water in the
dam, should we urinate into it???”
An
insensitive joke about the plight of farmers in drought hit areas of Maharashtra;
Pawar ridiculed a farmer who had been fasting for almost 2 months, demanding
the release of water from the nearby dam for his scorched field.
4. Jitendar Chattar: “Eating Chowmean and
fast food leads to hormonal imbalance, evoking an urge to rape.”
Are
all the people out there reading this??? It is not the men (with raging
hormones) who are responsible for rapes… it’s the chowmean!!! So the next time
you get eve teased or harassed, you know whom to file the complaint against!!!
5. Raj Babbar: “Even today in Mumbai, I can
have a full meal at Rs.12/-”
May
I please have the address of that generous restaurant/ Dhaba where you get
this??
The
last thing I bought for under Rs.12/- was merely a bottle of water!
6. Mohan Bhagwat: “Rapes happen in India,
not Bharat”
On
one hand where the whole nation was agitated with the occurrence of Delhi Rape
Case, Bhagwat didn’t refrain from sharing his “views” on the same.
He
held the “westernization” of Indian cities to be the reason behind rapes. He
also said, “You go to villages and forests and
there will be no such incidents. It is the urban cities where rapes
happen.”
7. Rahul Gandhi (Again!): “For how long will
U.P. youths go and beg in Maharashtra?”
Migration
out of helplessness and less opportunities from states like U.P. and Bihar to
Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh is an increasingly frequent phenomenon.
But
dude, people who migrate don’t necessarily end up begging! Get your stats
right!
8. Anisur Rahman: “If you are raped, what
will be your fee?”
A
former West Bengal Minister, Rahman’s “Hard-as-a-nail” remark humiliated not
only the entire woman community and rape victims, but others as well.
Though
he apologized publicly for having said things that he didn’t “mean”, this
incident has definitely left a print behind.
9. Mamata Banerjee: “Rapes are happening
because men and women are interacting more freely.”
Another
bizarre reasoning and a failed attempt of “explaining” why rapes happen, Mamata
Banerjee said, “Earlier if men and women would hold hands, they would get
caught by parents and reprimanded but now everything is so open. It's like an
open market with open options."
10. Sriprakash Jaiswal: “Victory fades, just
like a wife becomes old and loses her charm.”
The Union Coal Minister compared
women to cricket match victory celebration on hearing the news of India's
victory over Pakistan.
I
pity his wife!
You must have
understood by now, that there are incredibly high number of people playing the
blame game as to who exactly is responsible behind the increased number of
rapes!
Right from
Chowmeans to not calling the rapists your brother, there’s everything to be
blamed, but our “mentality”.
#IncredibleIndia isn’t
it?
