Gangoobai : Movie Review

Aga bai!!

Gangoobai is like none other. Embraces a simple life in picturesque hill station: Matheran. Does menial household chores to make ends meet. Loves gardening and lives in a choti si kholi. Her husband’s sudden and untimely death within a few months post marriage left her childless.

Her life was going just fine till her eyes settled on a “Gara Saree”. After saving Rs.50,000/- over a period of 4 years, her dream brought her to Mumbai. With pure goodness and a few puranpolis, Gangoobai wins everyone’s heart. 

Her wit and approach to life solves “Bade logon ki badi problems” during her stint in this mahanagri.  

Sarita Joshi (Gangoobai), with her experience and warmth, has played this role impeccably. Her expressions of wonder and awe will definitely bring a smile on your face! Other characters delivered average performances.

Miles away from the roz ki jhik jhik and melodrama, this hinglish+Marathi film is a must watch. Your 1 hour 45 minutes will be well spent :)
