The 9 to 9 Life

Wrote this abstract poem on the 9 to 9 life of today's working professionals. Do share your views on the same :

Day begins at 9am in the office and Finishes at 9pm, still in office

Be home by 10pm and off to sleep by 11.

That’s the working class today

With days and nights all busy and predictable

Living our lives in a planned heaven.

We have a first half, second half, late evenings and nights

We jump from meetings to meetings and numerous connecting flights.

We don’t know what afternoons and evenings are,

For are only aim is to be the most sought after in the Naukari Bazaar!

Saturdays are for clearing laundry and removing cobwebs

Making sure all our activities gets updated on the World Wide Web.

Sundays are for catching up with our social life,

We pick up the Vogue and Cosmopolitan, because HEY! Did you read about the latest trends?

When was the last time you took a break?

When was the last time you baked your own cake?

In an age with any and every information is just a click away,

May be we have forgotten what ambiguity feels like

May be we have forgotten how comfortable was that life

So break free now,

For it’s never too late.

Hit the road,

And make your own way!
